2012 Batu Caves Thaipusam, Kuala Lumpur

Thaipusam - Thai (month) and Pusam (festival) is celebrated in the months of January or February yearly.  Many, including Hindus believe Thaipusam marks the birthday of Lord Murugan but it ain't. Thaipusam marks the day Lord Murugan vanquished the evil Soorapadman with the Vel (spear) given by his mother.

Thaipusam is celebrated grandiosely with lightened hearts and it's the largest spiritual festival of the Hindus in Kuala Lumpur and in many other parts of Malaysia.
